Comenzar a reconstruir esta frágil latitud es hoy nuestra tarea.
Pero al centro de este empeño sólo podra colocarse el ser humano pleno,
con la compleja trama de sus relaciones sociales.
Desde Carlos Marx sabemos que en la producción social de su vida,
los hombres contraen determinadas relaciones necesarias
e independientes de su voluntad, relaciones de producción inherentes
al hecho social mismo. En la experiencia histórica hemos constatado que,
en el proceso material de reproducir la vida, el medio ambiente
es nuestra propia obra, y que esta obra deviene contradictoria
con la naturaleza al ignorar sus leyes.
Rehacer la naturaleza, por lo tanto, implica transformar
en primer término las relaciones sociales que la dañaron.

Las siguiente serie fotográfica se ha construido como un épilogo fotografico de la obra Las Venas Abiertas de Latino America (1971), donde Galeano ha sabido retratar los momentos históricos en las contradicciones de la vida latinoamericana, las que nos hacen el día y también aquellas que nos llenan de tristeza antes de dormir.

These images are fantastic, the message may be timeless but maybe it can be history (if we work together). Having read these brief words and absorbed these profound images, I pray more fervently that the new world, the world of my oldest ancestors, rises up to correct and supersede the world that is now passing. Thank you, Mr. Rogers, for sharing these gifts that you clearly possess in abundance.
